DENIS LYNCH once again showed the mettle of Flaminia Straumann's 11 year-old gelding Lantinus when winning the Grand Prix Qualifier at Hamburg, Germany this afternoon (Thursday).
The 31 year-old Tipperary-born rider, who won 100,000 euro with the gelding at the Doha Grand Prix last month, crossed the line just over one-and-a-half seconds clear of a strong challenge by American star Laura Kraut today. Lynch, who also took a fifth place at Hamburg yesterday with another Straumann horse Nabab's Son, was named on Tuesday as a member of Ireland's squad to compete in the first three Samsung Super League contests, which begin at La Baule, France on May 9.
