SIEC Team Hit The Top At The Weekend
SIEC Team riders Gerry Flynn (SIEC Copy Cat), Burak Azak (SIEC Dolce Inocenta, SIEC What A Surprise) and Oktay Sezek (SIEC Castlekelly Finn, SIEC Samantha) competed in the first leg of Kaya Baban Winter Leauge that is organized by İstanbul Riding Club ( Maslak) on 6-7 February 2010. The League contains 3 different categories in Bronze, Silver and Gold.

The first day started with opening competitions. In 115 cm height stake sponsored by Ece Sport Equipment it was recent rider of SIEC Oktay Sezek with Castlekelly Finn among 84 riders with 51,08 seconds that led the competition. The Second and third places were filled by another young rider Burak Azak riding SIEC Dolce Innocenta in 57,71 seconds with clear round and SIEC What a Suprise in 54,64 seconds. SIEC head coach and Team rider Gerry Flynn with Copy Cat placed 10th among senior riders.
The Last day of the competition was in the name for a young rider Berk İncircioğlu who recently passed away. The competition was in 125 cm. There were 15 riders qualified for the jump off. In the competition ranked in 3 different categories, it was Melisa Hoskal leading in young riders where SIEC rider Burak Azak with SIEC What A Suprise was not fast enough to catch her in the jump-off. Burak stopped the time 32.20 sec on the other hand Melise on Kleber finished in 31.72sec. SIEC rider Mert Emiroglu and his grey gelding Centox (34.37/0) were in the 4th place after a long break. Oktay Sezek rode his 7 years old mare in the same class and produced another clear round in the jump off and found his place at 5 when he had the time stopped at 35.33 second. In the seniors category it was Husnu Dinc and Butter Cup combination who took the memorial cup as the riders remembered Berk in another remarkable weekend.
On Sunday 7th; First legs of Bronze, Silver and Gold Leagues are completed. SIEC Team riders jumped in the Silver League which was 1.20m and against the clock. Burak Azak on SIEC Dolce Inocenta didn’t let his team mate Oktay Sezek to repeat what he managed the previous day. When Oktay and SIEC Castlekelly Finn had the fastest rider in the class so far with 51.17, Burak on Dolce decreased the time to 51.11 and became the winner of the first leg. Oktay took the second and the winner of the previous day Melisa Hoskal was in the third place. With these results the top three remains the same as they made up the top three in the rankings of the Silver League. Burak holds 25 points and in the lead due to his wind and Oktay has the second highest point with 22 and Melisa is the nearest follower with 20 in the league.
Senior rider of the team Gerry Flynn and his brand new partner S.I.E.C. Copy Cat finished the Silver League in the 9th place in his category with only 2 time fault.
Before the second league Serra Onkal takes the lead in the rankings of seniors’ followed by Husnu Dinc and Hulki Karagulle from Ankara
The last challenging class of the weekend was Gold League that put riders in one single category in the path to collecting points before the league final. The 1.30m Gold League had one winner at the end. Sencer Can riding alternative got 25 points for the league points as he won the class (56.32/0). The second place was taken by Melisa Hoskal and Kleber (57.95/0) leaving Hasan Senturk on Velvet Brown in the 3rd place. SIEC team rider Oktay Sezek had one down whereas Burak Azak and What A Surprise made 8.
SIEC Team travelled last weekend to Manerbio (Italy) for CSI2* show between 5-7 February 2010. Sevil Sabanci riding S.I.E.C. Casall, S.I.E.C. Cotarus and S.I.E.C. Riding the grey stallion SIEC Livello, Cameron placed in ninth in 140 cm high PRIJS C.DE BUYL HORSE INSURANCE competition against clock on December 29, 2009. Cameron Has gone to Belgium for CSI5*-W Mechelen show which started on 26th of December. On the second day Cameron rode 9 year old gelding S.I.E.C. Cotarus Z in todays’ 1.40m and had a clear round in 65.83sec which put him in the 9th place. Nicola Philippaerts on Carlos won the title of winner in 53.06sec among 42 starters. more...

SIEC Team Riders dominates the Private Cups and Turkish Championship for C.D.B and Ladies that was held in Capital Country Club in Ankara. Gerry Flynn produced a spectacular win at Ankara and won the top three cups in Ankara. Since 1980 Private Cups of Ministery of State Cup and GSGM Cup are held together every year with a high profile of participants from Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara, Konya and Bursa. Irish rider Gerry Flynn placed 6th for twice on the last day at the 3* show in Marcopoulo Olympic Centre. In the Young Horses Class 1.25 (6 years old)- 1.30m (7 years old) Gerry Flynn on the 6 years old mare SIEC Worella qualified for the jump off with 6 riders and he placed 6th with 4 penalties. The second day at the 3* show in Athens started with the 1.35m class. Gerry Flynn on Feng Schui completed the first round clear and continued in the second place. He had also another clear round in 31,85 sec which put him in to the 5th place. Greek rider Antonis Petris on Baskın T Bear won the class in 30,39 sec just before the Irish rider Niall Talbot on 30,53. Omer Karaevli on Urona took the 3rd place for Turkey. more...

In order to make contribution in the development of equestrian sports, to give experience to the riders in different environments, S international Equestrian Centre welcomed Gurman Equestrian Sport Club which was the first club returned after the declaration of SIEC for clinics all over Turkey. For three days, in jumping discipline 14 riders with 20 horses trained with the experienced instructor and S.I.E.C. Cedric Triolet.
