OLYMPIA: The London International Horse Show 15th – 21st December 2009 is Ready to Go…
Without a shadow of a doubt Olympia; The London International Horse Show is one of the most stunning event of the season right before the excitement of Christmas Time. The show takes place at West Kensington – Olympia Exhibition Halls between 15th – 21st December bringing the top riders of dressage and show jumping together. SIEC Team rider Cameron Hanley, the show jumper of the year, takes S.I.E.C. Livello, S.I.E.C. Caro Ass and Southwind VDL to share the excitement at London Olympia

The weekend brings up all the challenge for the riders of the both disciplines, since it is time for the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping qualifier presented by H&M and the FEI World Cup™ Dressage qualifier sponsored by Rowan Asset Management Ltd and hosted by Horse & Hound. What’s more; H&M will give a trophy to the “Leading rider of the show” by looking at the greatest point after 15 international jumping classes and the award will be presented right after the Grand Prix on Monday 21st.
Up until now, John Whitaker (2003), Marchus Ehning (2004), Robert Whitaker (2007) are among the winners of the prize and Ben Maher from Great Britain took it last year with his excellent performance at the show.
They include Albert Zoer (NED), Pius Schwizer (SUI), Edwina Alexander (AUS), Kevin Staut (FRA), Ben Maher (GBR) and Penelope Leprevost (FRA) are among the names of World’s top 25 of Rolex Rankings who are getting on the saddle in London where 39 jumpers from 17 different countries are participating.

Cameron and Aristo had the fastest time among 56 starters and put their name at the first place with 49.73 sec. SIEC Team Riders dominates the Private Cups and Turkish Championship for C.D.B and Ladies that was held in Capital Country Club in Ankara. Gerry Flynn produced a spectacular win at Ankara and won the top three cups in Ankara. Since 1980 Private Cups of Ministery of State Cup and GSGM Cup are held together every year with a high profile of participants from Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara, Konya and Bursa. Irish rider Gerry Flynn placed 6th for twice on the last day at the 3* show in Marcopoulo Olympic Centre. In the Young Horses Class 1.25 (6 years old)- 1.30m (7 years old) Gerry Flynn on the 6 years old mare SIEC Worella qualified for the jump off with 6 riders and he placed 6th with 4 penalties. The second day at the 3* show in Athens started with the 1.35m class. Gerry Flynn on Feng Schui completed the first round clear and continued in the second place. He had also another clear round in 31,85 sec which put him in to the 5th place. Team Syria is the winner of FEI Nation’s Cup of Istanbul after 2 rounds of 1.50m course. The first competition of the show was national class (1.20) in which 38 riders participated. Belis Memik on Lord Castro was the winner of children category with a clear round on time.
