THE FIRST LEGS OF 7 CAT. OF AKBANK PRIVATE BANKING ISTANBUL CHAMPIONSHIP ARE COMPLETED
Tomorrow the winners of 2009 Istanbul Championship will be determined after the finals in 7 cat. Today at the first legs of championship riders competed for a clear round and fastest time to keep the chance of getting the title for İstanbul Champion of 2009. The total results after the 2 days are counted together to set the winners this weekend at S International Equestrian Centre.

In D category, Mehmet Sozkesen and Qibel (61,32/0) won the 1st leg and qualified for the final as the leading rider of the final. In children category, where 18 horses participated, Buke Yildiz (IASK) on the bay stallion Lamentos had the best time with 67,46 and placed 1st
the 3rd class of the day, C Cat; is led by Hakan Kavasoglu from (IASK) on Omar III (64,10/0)
At Juniors, S.I.E.C. Team rider Burak Azak on S.I.E.C. Dolce Inocenta had the best time (67,90) with a clear round among 33 starters and put his name for the final at the first place.
SIEC Team rider Sevil Sabanci was competing with two horses from SIEC Team stables. With S.I.E.C. Preferro, Sevil Sabanci finished the first leg with a clear round and placed 2nd on the first day of the championship after Fadime Gurdal (TKASK) riding Tyni Paradise. Sevil Sabanci and S.I.E.C. Comet are at the 4th place coming with clear round to the finals of Istanbul Championship on Sunday.
After B cat, Young riders competed at 1.30m class. Gunes Sarmat and Centurio 15 combination were the winner of the 1st day. The placed riders of the class were awarded by GSGM provincial director Mr. Omer Gumus.
The last class of the day were Seniors’ class 1.40m which started at 6pm. The winner was SIEC Team rider and Head Coach Gerry Flynn on Gold Rush, the new member of SIEC Team recently arrived SIEC Istanbul stables.
The entertainment of the day was from Technomodel, which presented an interesting show based on Model Helicopters. The finals at Akbank Private Banking will start at 9am with D Cat Final on Sunday 17th.

SIEC rider Derin Demirsoy on Surprise won the 1.40m Junior Grand Prix on Sunday 19th among 28 junior riders. With 8 riders Derin moved on to the jump-0ff and cross the finish line with tha fastest time. With 37,48 sec Derin left Australian rider Stefanie Bistan on Carrera behind in the 2nd place. In order to make contribution in the development of equestrian sports, to give experience to the riders in different environments, S international Equestrian Centre welcomed Gurman Equestrian Sport Club which was the first club returned after the declaration of SIEC for clinics all over Turkey. For three days, in jumping discipline 14 riders with 20 horses trained with the experienced instructor and S.I.E.C. Cedric Triolet.
