Balkan Tour CSI2*-W Athens
The year 2009, brings up a new Project called Balkan Tour led by Turkish Equestrian Federation with the purpose of making Balkan Championships more attractive and giving the participants an international experience among Balkan Countries. With this in mind, the first leg of the series was held in Athens Marcopoulo Olympic Centre last weekend (2-3 May 2009)

On the first day; Sencer Can on Cleveland had a clear round in Small Tour (1.35m) in 43,46 seconds and placed forth. Greek rider Alexandros Forlis riding Rianda won the competition with a clear round in 38,93 sec in which the prize money was 1600 Euro. The rider was also the winner of the Big Tour (23,53/0) and Forlis was followed by the Turkish rider Hunsu Dinc riding Oswald I but he was not fast enough and occupied the second place with 23,83 sec. Another Turkish rider Iskender Pisak on Beakgardens Lorri placed 5th, Sencer Can on Symphony placed 6th and Berk Memik on Lord Castro placed 6th sharing the 2000 Euro prize money.
On Saturday; in a field of 70 participants Sencer Can with Otto finished the course in 63,73sec in Small Tour. Elina Dendrinou (GRE) on Boy Runner EC was the runner up with 60,40sec. At CSI2*-W Balkan Tour Turkish rider Sencer Horasan qualified for the jump-off with the bay gelding Mylaan D and with 4 penalties in the jump-off (47,74) he took the second place after Elina Dendrinou the Greek rider who was also the winner of the Big tour the previous day This time she took the trophy with W.K. Liberty (46,22/0). 4th place went to Turkey again with Iskender Pisak riding Beakgardens Lorri. 50 riders competed for the 4000 Euro prize money in the first leg of the series.
Hasan Senturk on S.I.E.C. Caro Ass placed 4th witha a clear round in 59.07sec at 1.45m height Gold Tour (Rolex World Rankings-Grand Prix Qualifier),where 76 riders participated. The winner was from Netherlands,Leon Thijssen riding Who Cares finishing with a clear round in 56.60 sec. more...

SIEC Team rider Cameron Hanley is participating in Hagen CSI3* show jumping competitions that has started today (22.03.09) In 1.40m class on S.I.E.C. Casall Cameron finished the course in 54.95 sec with a clear round right after the Italian rider Balazs Kuruczo (54.41). SIEC rider Derin Demirsoy on Surprise won the 1.40m Junior Grand Prix on Sunday 19th among 28 junior riders. With 8 riders Derin moved on to the jump-0ff and cross the finish line with tha fastest time. With 37,48 sec Derin left Australian rider Stefanie Bistan on Carrera behind in the 2nd place. Daniela Chiecci riding Colibri placed 3rd with 38,28sec. In order to make contribution in the development of equestrian sports, to give experience to the riders in different environments, S international Equestrian Centre welcomed Gurman Equestrian Sport Club which was the first club returned after the declaration of SIEC for clinics all over Turkey. For three days, in jumping discipline 14 riders with 20 horses trained with the experienced instructor and S.I.E.C. Cedric Triolet.

This morning at CSI 3* Cortina, Sevil Sabanci, riding SIEC Aristo, finished 3rd in the 1.30m class, in a field of 30 competitors. This result qualifies Sevil for one of 10 places in the Final of the 1.30m category which will be contested on Sunday. At CSI 3* Cortina Sevil jumped clear rounds in all three opening competitions. Riding SIEC Oberon in the 1.15m speed class, Sevil finished with a clear round in 13th place.
